Studio, Porch, and Deck Addition

(in progress) A three-story addition to an existing house in Cary, this design focused on creating beautiful views across a lake and accomodating varied spaces for exercise and living.

The bottom level, clad in stone, is an exercies studio with French doors opening to the outside. An enclosed three-story stair tower connects it to the porch above.

With motorized roll-down enclosure panels and screens, the second floor porch can be fully opened to the exterior, screened, or enclosed to eliminate the wind, heated with a gas fire place. It is finished with porcelain flooring tile and full height windows and doors back into the house.

The third floor deck has an overhead trellis for shading. It, like the porch below, has stainless steel cable railing to minimize visual distractions to the view.
