Orangery Addition

(in progress) This classically-styled addition and renovation to an existing home includes an orangery, a glass-enclosed space fashionable from the 17th centuries as a sunny winter space. Many examples continue to be created across Europe, originally inspired by the 1617 Musee de l'Orangerie at the Palace of the Louvre, which served as a warm habitat for 3,000 of Louis XIV's orange trees.

As with any residential renovation, complexities include detailed survey of the existing building, exploration of multiple schemes, analysis and consideration of site opportunities, window and large opening selections, and careful detailing of mouldings and trims.
